Islamabad۔ — The United States Mission in Pakistan hosted a grand “Freedom 250” celebration Friday evening, marking two and a half centuries of American independence and honoring nearly eight decades of U.S.-Pakistan friendship.
The landmark event brought together senior Pakistani government officials, business leaders, academics, and civil society figures at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad. U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker delivered the keynote address, reflecting on America’s founding ideals and their enduring global relevance.
“Tonight, we celebrate 250 years of American freedom, nearly 80 years of friendship between our two peoples, and everything we are going to build together in the years ahead. The best is not behind us — it is in front of us,” said Chargé Baker.
The ceremony featured the U.S. Marine Corps Color Guard, renditions of both national anthems, performances by the U.S. Air Force Central Command Band and Pakistani pop star Bilal Saeed, and a fireworks display over the Islamabad skyline.
The celebration is part of a year-long global series of events organized by U.S. missions worldwide under President Trump’s banner: “A New Era of American Greatness.”
