ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has sought responses from relevant authorities regarding restrictions imposed on meetings with the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The court issued notices to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, the Punjab Home Secretary, the Advocate General Islamabad, and the Advocate General Punjab, directing them to submit detailed replies on the matter.
During the hearing, counsel for the petitioner argued that restrictions on meetings between the PTI founder and his family members, lawyers, and party representatives were excessive and inconsistent with legal and constitutional rights.
After hearing preliminary arguments, the court called for explanations from the concerned authorities and adjourned the case for three weeks.
The Supreme Court directed all parties to appear at the next hearing with their reports and legal submissions to facilitate a comprehensive review of the issue.
The case has drawn significant attention as it concerns the legality and administrative justification of restrictions on prison visits involving the PTI founder.
