Pakistani PM, Azerbaijan President Pledge Full Cooperation in Key Sectors

Tianjin – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of State in Tianjin, China, where the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
The Prime Minister congratulated President Aliyev on the signing of the historic peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, calling it a major step toward lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
Both leaders reviewed the full spectrum of cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, including trade, investment, energy, connectivity, defence, education, and people-to-people exchanges. They expressed satisfaction over the growing momentum in bilateral relations.
Sharif and Aliyev also highlighted the importance of regional connectivity projects and enhanced collaboration under multilateral platforms such as the SCO to foster prosperity and integration. They exchanged views on emerging global challenges and agreed to maintain close coordination in international fora.
President Aliyev conveyed his condolences over the loss of lives and property caused by recent floods in Pakistan and assured that Azerbaijan stands in solidarity with the Pakistani people.
Prime Minister Sharif extended an invitation to President Aliyev to visit Pakistan in the near future.
