RAWALPINDI, (International Desk) – The Pakistan Armed Forces on Saturday paid rich tribute to the nation’s martyrs on the 60th Defence Day, reaffirming their commitment to defend the country against all threats.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, as well as the Naval and Air Chiefs, expressed deep respect for the sacrifices of martyrs and their families.
ISPR said September 6, 1965, remains a symbol of the nation’s unwavering resolve and indomitable spirit, when brave soldiers, backed by the people, thwarted the designs of a much larger adversary. “The courage and sacrifices of our fearless heroes have left an eternal mark and will continue to inspire generations,” the statement read.
The Armed Forces vowed to remain vigilant, ready to counter external aggression, terrorism, and natural calamities, while continuing support for flood-affected citizens. The message added that any attempt to sabotage peace will be met with a decisive response.
