The administration of US President Donald Trump has added the United Arab Emirates to the list of countries eligible for special export facilitations and concessions.
According to international news agencies, the United States has placed the UAE in “Country Group A:5” under the Export Administration Regulations, marking a significant easing of export restrictions.
The US Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security stated that under the new classification, the UAE government and approved trading entities will be able to import a wide range of eligible products under Strategic Trade Authorization without individual export licenses — provided they fully comply with the specified conditions and US export laws.
As a result of this decision, the UAE will gain significantly easier access than before to advanced US technology, artificial intelligence chips, certain military equipment, commercial satellites, space technology, and various other dual-use items.
