Islamabad – A spectacular total lunar eclipse will occur on the night of September 7, 2025, and will be clearly visible across Pakistan, turning the moon into a striking “Blood Moon.”
According to astronomical details, the eclipse will begin at 8:28 PM (local time) on Sunday, September 7, and end at approximately 1:55 AM the next morning. The total duration of the eclipse will be about 5 hours and 27 minutes, with the phase of totality lasting around 82 to 83 minutes.
The phenomenon will be visible in major cities including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, among others.
Scientists explain that the moon takes on a reddish hue — known as a Blood Moon — when Earth comes directly between the Sun and the Moon, causing Earth’s shadow to cast a red glow on the lunar surface.
The eclipse can be viewed easily with the naked eye, though the experience will be even more vivid and breathtaking through a telescope.
