LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has said that providing basic facilities, including education, to the people remains one of the government’s top priorities, adding that another promise made to the people of Attock has now been fulfilled.
He expressed these views while inaugurating NADRA Facilitation Centres in the Union Councils of Brahma Bahatar and Malal in Attock district. The ceremony was attended by a large number of local residents, dignitaries, and the Director General of NADRA.
The Governor thanked the Chairman NADRA for approving four NADRA centres on his request, saying the new facilities would save residents of Union Councils Malal and Brahma Bahatar from travelling to Fateh Jang for identity card services.
Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that public welfare projects should remain above political considerations. He also thanked Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the Chairman NADRA for their support in establishing the new centres.
He announced that NADRA office facilities would soon be expanded to all tehsils of Attock, providing greater convenience, particularly to underprivileged citizens.
The Governor further said that the people of Attock have long faced various hardships and announced that the University of Attock would soon be established, enabling students from the district to access quality higher education without travelling to distant cities.
He reiterated that while politics has its place, there can be no compromise on public service. Expressing confidence in his party’s future, the Governor said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would return to power with a public mandate and that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would become the country’s Prime Minister and set a new benchmark in public service.
