Tamil superstar and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s political action film “Jana Nayagan” has earned a worldwide gross of ₹112.5 crore within just two days of its release. Although collections dropped by nearly 50% on the second day, the film successfully crossed the ₹100 crore global mark.
According to box office reports, the film collected ₹63.85 crore net in India over the first two days, with gross collections at around ₹75 crore. Overseas markets contributed ₹37.5 crore, pushing the worldwide total to ₹112.5 crore. Despite a nearly 50.5% drop in day-two earnings compared to opening day, analysts note that strong reception in Tamil Nadu and enthusiastic overseas audience turnout helped stabilize the film’s overall performance.
Reports indicate that the Tamil version accounted for the largest share of the film’s earnings, with Tamil Nadu remaining its biggest market. The film is also running in Telugu and Hindi, though collections in those languages have been comparatively limited. The film is being regarded as one of the most significant releases of Vijay’s career, as it is widely believed to be his last film before he becomes fully engaged in active politics. This anticipation fueled extraordinary excitement ahead of the release, with advance bookings leading to houseful shows across multiple cities.
While “Jana Nayagan” has crossed the ₹100 crore global mark in just two days, its opening numbers trail behind Vijay’s previous blockbusters “Leo” and “The Greatest of All Time” (GOAT). Nevertheless, the film’s strong start has raised expectations for even better business over the coming weekend.
