C&W Teams Working Round the Clock with District Administration to Clear Rainwater from Roads: Bharth

LAHORE: The Punjab Communication & Works (C&W) Department has mobilised its field formations across Rawalpindi to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow and public safety amid heavy rainfall, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Provincial Minister for Communication & Works Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth said all field formations in Rawalpindi had been placed on high alert, with field officers directed to maintain continuous monitoring of roads and promptly report any emergency situation.

He said traffic was moving smoothly through the recently completed Marka-e-Haq Underpass despite the heavy rain, reflecting the effectiveness of precautionary measures taken by the department.

“The C&W teams are working continuously in coordination with the district administration to drain rainwater from roads so that commuters do not face unnecessary inconvenience,” the minister said.

Bharth added that emergency machinery and personnel had been deployed in low-lying and rain-affected areas to respond swiftly to any situation.

He said providing safe and uninterrupted travel facilities to the public remained the department’s top priority, adding that all necessary measures were being taken to maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure public safety during the ongoing spell of rainfall.
