GUJRANWALA: A tax awareness campaign for small traders is underway across Gujranwala and its surrounding areas on the directives of Chief Commissioner FBR Khalid Jameel and Commissioner Ali Adnan Khan.
As part of the campaign, an awareness session on the “Special Procedure for Small Shopkeepers” was organized at Main Bazaar, Kamoke, where traders were briefed on the key features, objectives and benefits of the special tax scheme.
The session was attended by General Secretary Trade Union Haji Faiz, President Shoes Merchants Tanveer, President General Store Traders Zaka Ullah, Vice President Garments Association Ajmal Bhatti and President Kiryana Merchants Sheikh Munir Ahmed.
Meanwhile, an awareness meeting was held at Main Bazaar, Wazirabad, under the directives of the Commissioner Inland Revenue. The meeting was chaired by Amir Younas Khokhar, Inland Revenue Officer, Unit No. 16, Wazirabad, and was attended by the President of the Main Bazaar Trade Union.
In another development, Unit No. 10 organized an awareness meeting with members of the Mobile Market Association of Model Town, Gujranwala, in compliance with the directives of the Commissioner Inland Revenue, Zone-II, Gujranwala.
Owais Butt, President of Mobile Market Model Town, office-bearers of the association and a large number of shopkeepers participated in the meeting.
Participants were given a detailed briefing on the key features, objectives and benefits of the special scheme. Officials highlighted that the initiative was aimed at making tax compliance easier for small shopkeepers and providing them with clear and comprehensive information about their tax obligations.
Separately, Unit No. 12 organized an awareness meeting with traders of Main Bazaar, Khiali, Gujranwala, under the directives of the Commissioner Inland Revenue, Zone-II, Gujranwala.
The meeting was attended by Imran Shehzad, President; Yasir Saeed Mughal, Secretary; and Muhammad Sufyan Jutt, Vice President of the Traders Association. Other office-bearers, association members and a large number of local shopkeepers also participated.
During the meeting, traders were briefed on important provisions, objectives and benefits of the special scheme. Particular emphasis was placed on creating awareness among small shopkeepers, addressing their concerns regarding tax compliance and encouraging them to fulfill their tax obligations under the scheme.
To ensure wider dissemination of information, key points of the special scheme were also shared through the official WhatsApp group of traders of Main Bazaar, Khiali.
Officials said the initiative would enable shopkeepers who were unable to attend the meetings in person to access important information about the scheme and better understand the process of tax compliance.
