Tehran — Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has called on the international community, particularly Muslim nations, to sever all trade and political relations with Israel in response to what he described as the regime’s “devastating crimes” in Gaza.
According to Iranian media, Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks on Sunday during a meeting with President Masoud Pezeshkian and his cabinet members in Tehran. He accused Israeli forces of committing “shameless crimes and shocking destruction” in Gaza, with the full backing of the United States.
“Although these crimes are being carried out under the support of a powerful country like the U.S., it does not mean that confronting this situation is impossible,” Khamenei said.
He urged Muslim and protesting nations to completely cut commercial and even political ties with Israel in order to isolate it. The Supreme Leader further described Israel as “the most isolated and hated regime in the world,” stressing that Iranian diplomacy should focus on encouraging other countries to sever relations with what he termed the “criminal army.”
