Islamabad — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif spoke by telephone today with Nepal’s Prime Minister Balendra Shah and expressed deep condolences over the loss of life and widespread destruction caused by recent floods and landslides in Nepal.
Mr. Shehbaz said the government and people of Pakistan stand in full solidarity with Nepal’s leadership and citizens, and offered all possible assistance during this difficult time. He informed his Nepali counterpart that Pakistan is dispatching emergency relief supplies to support relief operations.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz for calling and for Pakistan’s expression of solidarity and support, and expressed gratitude for the generous offer of assistance.
According to official sources, the two leaders also discussed the status of initial rescue and relief efforts in affected areas, immediate medical support for victims, and avenues for longer-term recovery cooperation.
