WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has said he is pleased that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have relocated back to the UK after six years in the United States. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said he was never a fan of the couple, criticizing Meghan in particular as having been “very disrespectful” to Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles. He added that had he been part of the royal family, he would not have welcomed the couple back.
The Sussexes returned to Britain last week with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, though there are no plans to reinstate their official royal duties. The family is expected to settle privately outside London, possibly in the Cotswolds, while retaining their California home. Security remains an open question, as Harry no longer automatically qualifies for state-funded armed police protection after stepping back from royal duties — a matter he has also lost in court against the UK government.
