Los Angeles, September 15, 2026: American rapper Macklemore has claimed he was removed from the remaining dates of Ed Sheeran’s US tour after voicing clear support for Palestine and chanting “Free Palestine” during a performance. Macklemore alleged that New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft personally contacted Sheeran, warning that Macklemore would not be allowed to perform at Kraft-owned venues such as Gillette Stadium, and that other stadium owners aligned with the same position.
Macklemore said he doesn’t personally blame Sheeran for the decision, saying it put him in an impossible position. But he argued that if the phrase “Free Palestine” is seen as more objectionable than the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinian children, it reveals a fundamental disagreement in values. Tour promoter Messina Touring Group confirmed that venue operators had indicated they would not permit concerts featuring Macklemore.
