LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana has said that providing a peaceful, secure and business-friendly environment and resolving the genuine concerns of the business community on a priority basis are among the top priorities of Lahore Police.
He said effective policing and close coordination with business organisations were essential to protecting economic activities, strengthening public confidence and promoting sustainable economic growth.
During his visit to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the CCPO held discussions with LCCI President Ali Hussam Asghar on matters relating to business security, public safety and cooperation between the police and the business community.
Bilal Siddique Kamyana said Lahore Police were taking all possible measures, in consultation with business representatives and other relevant stakeholders, to improve the security of commercial activities. He added that regular engagement with business organisations could help identify security challenges, strengthen coordination and ensure timely resolution of genuine concerns.
LCCI President Ali Hussam Asghar emphasised that a peaceful environment was essential for businesses to operate smoothly and confidently. He said protecting the business community was not merely a matter of public safety but also a key factor in sustaining economic activity, attracting investment and strengthening Lahore’s commercial standing.
He noted that effective cooperation between police officials and business representatives could help create a stable environment for trade and industry.
The LCCI president appreciated the services being provided through the Police Khidmat Markaz operating at the Chamber. He said accessible police services, convenient service delivery and responsive law enforcement could save businesspeople valuable time, strengthen institutional trust and facilitate commercial activities.
Ali Hussam Asghar said peace, security and the rule of law were fundamental to economic stability. Businesses were better positioned to invest, expand operations, create employment opportunities and contribute to national development when they could operate without persistent concerns about crime and insecurity, he added.
He stressed that a safe business environment was particularly important for markets, commercial centres, small businesses and industrial enterprises that supported livelihoods and economic activity across the city.
The LCCI president further observed that cooperation between the police and the private sector could play an important role in preventing crime, protecting commercial assets and addressing traders’ concerns through effective communication. He called for continued coordination between LCCI and Lahore Police to ensure that issues affecting the business community were promptly identified and addressed through appropriate channels.
He added that business-friendly policing, fair enforcement of the law and timely handling of complaints could strengthen confidence among existing and prospective investors. A predictable and secure environment, he said, encouraged entrepreneurship, commercial expansion and sustainable economic development.
Ali Hussam Asghar also paid tribute to the sacrifices made by Lahore Police personnel in maintaining law and order and protecting the lives and property of citizens.
Emphasising the importance of continued institutional cooperation, he said stronger engagement between LCCI and Lahore Police could improve communication, enhance police service delivery and address security concerns affecting traders and industrialists.
He highlighted the broader economic significance of public safety and effective law enforcement, noting that Lahore, as one of Pakistan’s major economic hubs, depended on a secure environment to sustain trade, attract investment, support employment and promote business growth.
He concluded that stronger collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the business community could help achieve these objectives and reinforce confidence in Lahore’s commercial environment.
