LAHORE, Farzana ch Pakistan — Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin announced that more than 74,500 people have been provided financial assistance amounting to Rs90.42 billion for house construction under the provincial government’s housing initiative.
Speaking at a high-level meeting of the Housing Department, chaired by the minister, Housing Secretary Noor-ul-Amin Mengal briefed on departmental progress, relief operations in flood-affected areas, and ongoing projects.
Minister Yasin highlighted that the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” program portal has attracted over 1.58 million users, demonstrating strong public confidence in government housing policies. Of these, 807,590 people have formally applied for loans.
“So far, 14,000 houses have been completed, while Rs1.96 billion has also been disbursed in installments,” Yasin stated. He emphasized that all available resources are being mobilized to meet the targets set by the Punjab Chief Minister.
The minister further directed authorities to expedite the provision of clean drinking water and machinery for flood-affected communities, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting victims of natural disasters.
