Ottawa, (International Desk) — Canada has officially declared an Indian gang with alleged ties to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a terrorist organization, following investigations into the killing of prominent Sikh leader and Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
According to Canadian police, India orchestrated and directed Nijjar’s assassination with the help of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Authorities said the group has long engaged in murder, shootings, and arson to intimidate the public and extort money.
The designation marks a sharp escalation in Canada’s response to the case, further deepening tensions in Ottawa’s already strained relations with New Delhi.
