Sophia Bush, Jerry OConnell, Violet McGraw to Star in YA Comedy Summers Last Resort (Exclusive)

Violet McGraw, known for playing the titular role in the M3GAN franchise, is set to lead a YA comedy feature in which her character is similarly protective of those close to her but in a slightly less diabolical way.
Sophia Bush (One Tree Hill), Jerry O’Connell (Billions) and McGraw will star in the Tubi Original feature Summer’s Last Resort, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. Tim Rozon (Wynonna Earp) rounds out the cast for director Melanie Scrofano’s film that is currently in production.
Summer’s Last Resort centers on Summer (McGraw), a high-strung teen who finds herself trapped on vacation with her free-spirited mom’s (Bush) corny boyfriend, Glenn (O’Connell), who is also her vice principal. The teen sets out to salvage the trip by secretly plotting to break the couple up.
Scrofano (Heartland, Wynonna Earp) helmed the movie from a script by Emily Andras (Wynonna Earp, Lost Girl). Hailing from Blue Ice Pictures, Summer’s Last Resort counts Andras and Lance Samuels as executive producers.

THR exclusively reported last week that the free streaming service is currently in production on Buzzkill, a YA horror-comedy film from director Jem Garrard that will star Siena Agudong, Brec Bassinger and Aliyah’s Interlude.
Bush is represented by CAA, Entertainment 360 and Johnson Shapiro. O’Connell is repped by CAA and 3 Arts Entertainment. McGraw is repped by Coast to Coast Talent Group and Linden Entertainment. Rozon is repped by Play Management. Scrofano is repped by Insight Entertainment and Ambition Talent. Andras is repped by Sundust Management.
