Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s Artists Equity has a new president of Film & Television, with veteran executive Amy Baer joining the banner. She will report to co-founder and CEO Affleck and chief operating officer Dillon West.
During her career, Baer spent 17 years at Sony, which now has a three-year deal with Artists Equity to finance and distribute its films. Baer more recently founded Gidden Media, serving as its president since its inception in 2012 and producing features such as The Apprentice, while the company also executive produced the Netflix feature Purple Hearts.
“Amy is a world-class executive and producer whose track record speaks for itself,” said Affleck in a statement. “She brings a wealth of experience, not only in leadership roles at major studios, including our valued partner in Sony Pictures, but also as a successful independent producer, building a deep understanding of the evolving industry landscape. Throughout her career, she has championed work that balances creative integrity with commercial success. Our goal at Artists Equity has always been to empower talent, and Amy is a perfect fit to represent our principles while expanding our vision for film and television.”
Baer previously served as president of Landline Pictures from 2020-23, overseeing the Bryan Cranston, Annette Beningfeature Jerry & Marge Go Largeand the upcoming comedyThe Best Is Yet to Come, reuniting Ferris Bueller’s Day Off duo Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck. Her resume also includes four years as the founding president and CEO of CBS Films, while her years at Sony included overseeing Oscar-nominated filmsMoneyball,The Pursuit of Happyness andAdaptation.

Artists Equity launched in November 2022 with backing from RedBird Capital Partners, and first released the Affleck-directed AIR, with its films also including The Instigators and The Accountant 2. Its upcoming slate includes the Damon-Affleck action feature The Rip, the Affleck-directed thriller Animals, and Bill Condon’sKiss of the Spider Woman, starring Jennifer Lopez and Diego Luna.
