SHARM EL-SHEIKH, EGYPT — U.S. President Donald Trump declared the signing of the Gaza Peace Agreement a “historic day for the people of Gaza,” emphasizing that the accord marks a turning point toward lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
Speaking at the international summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, Trump commended Egypt’s pivotal role in mediating the deal and lauded the joint efforts of Qatar, Türkiye, and other regional partners. “At last, we have succeeded in establishing peace in the Middle East,” he said. “This is the day the world has long prayed and worked for. Many predicted that World War III would begin in this region — but now, peace has prevailed instead.”
The agreement is expected to open a new chapter for Gaza, focusing on reconstruction, regional cooperation, and sustainable development, while ensuring security for all parties involved.
