Australia Reaffirms Friendship with Pakistan on Independence Day

Islamabad – Australia’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Neil Hawkins, has congratulated the people of Pakistan on the country’s 78th Independence Day, calling Australia a “longstanding friend” of the South Asian nation.

In his message, Hawkins highlighted the breadth of bilateral relations, saying that from cricket to classrooms, and from agriculture to trade, the two countries have maintained enduring ties.

He underscored the strength of people-to-people connections and mutual respect, and expressed Australia’s commitment to expanding cooperation in education, sports, commerce, and sustainable development.
