Lahore.A grand reception was held at Rochdale’s historic Town Hall in honor of Barrister Amjad Malik, Vice Chairperson of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab, and senior journalist Sohail Warraich during their visit from Pakistan.
The event, hosted by Mayor of Rochdale Councillor Janet Emsley, was attended by community leaders, business representatives, and local journalists. Former Mayor Councillor Shakil Ahmed, President of PML-N UK Trade Wing Chaudhry Khalid Mahmood, and several others welcomed the delegation with bouquets.
Barrister Amjad Malik and Sohail Warraich thanked the Mayor and the local community for their hospitality, stressing that cultural and people-to-people exchanges strengthen ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, while also highlighting the concerns of overseas Pakistanis.
It was also noted that Rochdale is a twin town of Sahiwal, Pakistan, further underscoring the long-standing relationship between the two communities.
