London: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has concluded his four-day visit to the United Kingdom and will depart for the United States today at 11 a.m. He will remain in the U.S. until September 26.
During his stay, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss regional developments as well as global peace and security. Shehbaz Sharif will also attend the United Nations General Assembly session, where he is expected to highlight the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. His address will further outline Pakistan’s stance on climate change, terrorism, and Islamophobia.
While addressing the Pakistani community in London, the Prime Minister said that although India had been “taught a lesson” in recent conflict, a ceasefire is now in place. He emphasized that Pakistan seeks a peaceful, equitable resolution to Kashmir and other disputes, noting that “the two neighbors must live together.”
At an Overseas Pakistanis convention, Sharif praised the contributions of the diaspora, describing them as Pakistan’s ambassadors abroad. He noted that overseas Pakistanis had remitted $48.5 billion this year, calling their economic support “invaluable” and stating that their efforts “cannot be measured even in gold or jewels.”
