Country music singer Ella Langley says she is pausing tour dates and stepping away from the stage to prioritize her health.
The “Hungover” singer made the announcement in a heartfelt post shared to social media on Aug. 11, where she touched on her desire to focus on her body and heart after struggling with sickness.
“I’m so sad to be posting this. The past several weeks have been tough,” she began the post. “I’ve been fighting sickness and feeling more run down than ever. After a lot of thought, I’ve made the hard decision to take a couple of weeks to rest and focus on my health — mind, body, and heart. I want to be fully present for all the moments ahead, and I know I can’t do that without first taking care of myself.”
The singer, who appeared on TODAY alongside singer Riley Green in July as part of the Citi Concert Series, expressed gratitude to her fans for their understanding and support.
“Sometimes we have to listen when our bodies and hearts are telling us to slow down,” she added. “I’m so grateful for your understanding and your love — it truly means the world to me.”
Langley did not specify whether she plans to reschedule her shows, and representatives for the singer did not immediately respond to TODAY.com’s request for clarification.
She concluded her post with a verse from Matthew 11:28 from the Bible that reads, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
While comments for the post were turned off, Langley’s message received over 80,000 likes.
