New York — Pakistan has called for the safe and dignified repatriation of Rohingya Muslims during a high-level conference on the situation of Rohingya and other minorities at the United Nations General Assembly.
Speaking at the session, Pakistan’s envoy Aamir Iftikhar said that the Rohingya people have endured decades of displacement and systematic denial of their fundamental rights.
He stressed that recent violent incidents in Myanmar’s Rakhine State have further aggravated the crisis, forcing thousands more to flee and deepening the humanitarian catastrophe.
The Pakistani representative urged the international community to turn its pledges of solidarity into concrete actions to ensure justice, accountability, and the safe return of Rohingya Muslims to their homeland.
