Islamabad –M.Saleem jutt The National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has revealed that at least 139 digital platforms are involved in illegally selling personal data of Pakistani citizens.
According to investigation sources, the identified platforms include 18 mobile applications, 17 websites, and 2 YouTube channels, along with several social media accounts. These platforms were allegedly trading sensitive personal information without authorization.
Officials said the NCCIA has completed initial mapping of the networks and is now working to dismantle them. Authorities are also coordinating with international cybercrime bodies to trace cross-border links of the data trade.
The revelations have raised serious concerns over digital privacy and data protection in Pakistan, where cybercrime cases have sharply increased in recent years.
