LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has strongly condemned the killing of senior journalist Tufail Rind, General Secretary of the Mirpur Mathelo Press Club, who was shot dead in Ghotki.
Bokhari said the journalist was targeted while taking children to school, and that his eight-year-old niece also lost her life in the attack. She noted that another journalist was murdered in Sindh just weeks earlier — indicating a pattern of systematic targeting of media professionals in the province.
Calling the series of killings a “deliberate attempt to spread fear and intimidation,” the minister urged the Sindh government to ensure swift justice and take immediate measures for the safety and protection of journalists.
