LAHORE: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has underlined the importance of modern policing, technological innovation, and behavioral transformation in law enforcement.
He made these remarks while addressing under-training Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) from the National Police Academy’s Second Specialized Training Course during their visit to the Central Police Office, Lahore. A total of 43 trainee officers, including nine women, participated in the study visit to gain hands-on experience of policing in Punjab.
Dr. Anwar said that integrating artificial intelligence and modern technology would strengthen crime control mechanisms and enhance public service delivery. He also stressed the importance of field experience, administrative efficiency, and community coordination as key elements of modern policing.
During the session, Additional IG Investigation Punjab Shehzada Sultan and AIG Operations Zahid Nawaz Marwat briefed the officers on investigation, operations, and crime control functions.
