Lahore: The three-day international exhibition of hand-knotted carpets concluded in Lahore, marking a major success for Pakistan’s traditional carpet industry and its contribution to the national economy.
Foreign buyers signed multiple trade agreements during the event, which are expected to significantly boost exports and foreign exchange earnings in the ongoing fiscal year.
Participants from various countries praised Pakistan’s craftsmanship, hospitality, and the superior quality of the products displayed. Many international companies placed direct orders, highlighting the growing global demand for Pakistani hand-woven carpets.
Chairman of the Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA), Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman, and Chairman of the Exhibition Committee, Riaz Ahmed, described the event as an exceptional success, noting that nearly all exhibitors received export orders. They added that the captivating designs and high-quality products drew strong appreciation from foreign buyers.
The organizers thanked the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) for its full support, which they said was instrumental to the exhibition’s success. They also emphasized that the event has evolved into a vital platform for promoting Pakistani hand-knotted carpets in the international market and for strengthening long-term trade relations with global partners.
