LAHORE: The Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) has welcomed the recent signing of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, focusing on youth development, technology, and sports cooperation.
PIAF Chairman and LCCI President Faheemur Rehman Saigol hailed the MoUs as a major step toward strengthening bilateral relations and promoting innovation-led economic collaboration.
“These agreements mark a pivotal moment for Pakistan’s future,” Faheem said. “Joint programs in IT education, training, and youth exchanges will foster entrepreneurship and innovation, while the inclusion of sports deepens cultural and social engagement.”
PIAF Senior Vice Chairman Nasrullah Mughal highlighted the MoUs’ potential to accelerate Pakistan’s digital transformation, urging stakeholders to channel the partnership into research, innovation hubs, and start-up incubation.
Vice Chairman Tahir Manzoor Chaudhary noted that the collaboration could unlock wider economic opportunities in petrochemicals, agriculture, and manufacturing. “This initiative extends beyond education and sports—it’s a gateway for industrial linkages and sustainable job creation,” he added.
The organization also appreciated both governments’ focus on viable investment projects, particularly in petrochemical and agro-based industries. PIAF proposed forming joint task forces to oversee implementation, improve transparency, and ensure tangible economic outcomes.
To further enhance bilateral cooperation, PIAF suggested establishing centers of excellence in AI, cybersecurity, and green technologies, launching vocational training programs aligned with international standards, and expanding sporting and cultural exchanges.
Faheem Saigol concluded, “This moment offers a unique opportunity to redefine Pakistan-Saudi relations beyond traditional diplomacy, with youth, innovation, and industry as pillars of shared prosperity.”
