The Punjab University Institute of Zoology, in collaboration with the Applied Zoological Society of Pakistan and Government College University Faisalabad, hosted the 8th International Conference on Applied Zoology (ICAZ-2025) at Faisal Auditorium on Monday. The event centered on the theme “Interdisciplinary Approaches for a Sustainable World: Fostering Innovative Solutions for Food, Medicine, and Industry.”
The conference brought together eminent scientists, researchers, and academicians from around the world, including participants from the UK, Türkiye, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Germany, and Thailand. Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, serving as the conference’s patron-in-chief, highlighted the importance of scientific collaboration and innovation in addressing global zoological and environmental challenges.
He noted that ICAZ-2025 serves as a vital platform to promote scientific exchange, strengthen academic networks, and encourage international cooperation in applied zoological research. Around 1,200 students from various universities are presenting 400 research papers over the two-day event.
Other distinguished attendees included GCUF VC Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, DG Punjab Agriculture Drug and Food Authority Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha, UHE VC Prof. Dr. Zaib-un-Nisa, Prof. Dr. Farhat Jabeen, Prof. Dr. Nabeela Rohi, and Prof. Dr. Azhar Rasul.
The conference features keynote speeches, oral and poster presentations, and thematic sessions on topics such as biodiversity conservation, molecular zoology, environmental biotechnology, and animal health sciences — all aimed at developing sustainable and innovative solutions for the future.
