Beijing: China has stated that Pakistan has assured Beijing that its growing relations with the United States will not harm China’s strategic interests.
During a regular press briefing on Tuesday, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry emphasized that “China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partners, and the foundation of mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries remains solid.”
The spokesperson clarified that China’s recent export restrictions on rare earth minerals and related materials are “purely a trade and industrial policy measure and have no connection whatsoever with Pakistan.”
Reaffirming Beijing’s commitment, the spokesperson said China will continue to work closely with Pakistan to promote regional peace, stability, and sustainable economic development.
