According to officials, injured protesters will be detained immediately upon discharge from hospitals, as part of a coordinated crackdown. Law enforcement agencies have also completed geo-fencing operations to track down participants in the unrest.
Sources said the government is preparing to take action against seminaries whose students were found involved in the protests, while members of WhatsApp groups used for coordination are also under investigation.
Police have registered 76 cases across multiple districts in Punjab, as authorities move to restore calm and prevent further escalation of violence.
