ISLAMABAD (International Desk) — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan has announced a countrywide protest in response to the Muridke incident, calling for the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate the matter.
In a statement issued from jail through his legal team, Khan demanded that Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police (IG) and Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi be investigated for their alleged roles in the incident.
The PTI founder emphasized that “peace can only be achieved through dialogue, not suppression,” reiterating his stance that political grievances must be resolved through negotiations rather than confrontation.
Khan’s call for protests comes amid heightened political tensions and growing criticism of the government’s handling of recent law and order situations in Punjab.
