Releases additional Rs 1.96 million for medical treatment of police employees

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has reiterated his firm commitment to ensuring the health and welfare of the Punjab Police force and their families. In line with this commitment, additional funds amounting to Rs 1.96 million have been released for the medical treatment of police employees and their dependents.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, Rs 0.5 million has been allocated for the medical treatment of DSP Muhammad Usman, while Constable Muhammad Jamshed has received Rs 0.5 million to cover his wife’s heart surgery. Sanitary worker Raees Inayat has been granted Rs 0.2 million for kidney treatment, and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Aman Ullah has been provided Rs 160,000 for medical expenses.
Similarly, retired office superintendent Muhammad Irshad, Sub-Inspector Jafar Raza, Constables Muhammad Ashfaq and Samsoon, as well as retired constables Sana Ullah and Muhammad Javed Awan, have each been granted Rs 100,000 for medical treatment.
The release of funds was approved by IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar following scrutiny by the Medical Financial Assistance Committee. He said that under memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with various medical institutions, Punjab Police is ensuring access to quality healthcare facilities for its employees and their families.
Dr. Usman Anwar further stated that more than Rs 27 million is being spent daily across the province on the welfare of police personnel and their families. He added that during the past year, the Central Police Office and district police offices collectively spent nearly Rs 8 billion on welfare initiatives for the police force.
