Islamabad: The Da‘wah Academy of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), through its Department of Qur’an Memorization (Tahfīz al-Qur’ān), organized a prestigious ceremony titled “Honoring the Memorizers of the Holy Qur’an” at the iconic Faisal Mosque. The event recognized the achievements of huffaz—those who have memorized the Holy Qur’an—along with their teachers.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmad, President of IIUI, as the chief guest, while Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ilyas, Director General of the Da‘wah Academy, presided over the session. In his welcome remarks, Dr. Ilyas highlighted the crucial role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the construction of Faisal Mosque and its continued support for the university’s growth. He described the mosque as a symbol of Islamic moderation and moral reform, attracting thousands of visitors daily.

In his keynote address, Prof. Dr. Alahmad congratulated the students, their parents, and teachers, stressing the profound spiritual significance of memorizing the Qur’an. He underlined that its true value lies not only in memorization but in devotion, reflection, and adherence to the Sunnah. The President also paid tribute to the late King Faisal of Saudi Arabia for his services to the Muslim Ummah, while expressing gratitude to the current Saudi leadership for maintaining their support for Faisal Mosque and IIUI.
The President also linked the ceremony to Pakistan’s Independence Day, extending congratulations to the nation, its leadership, and armed forces for their sacrifices in the defense of truth and justice. He praised the efforts of the Da‘wah Academy and media in successfully organizing the event.
