Inflation in Pakistan Rises Sharply as Prices of 23 Essential Items Increase

Islamabad: Inflationary pressures in Pakistan intensified during the past week, with the national statistics agency reporting a 1.29 percent rise in the weekly inflation rate.

According to the latest data, prices of 23 essential commodities increased, while 4 items saw a decline, and 24 remained stable.

Economists caution that the sustained surge in food and household goods is placing additional strain on ordinary consumers already struggling with a prolonged cost-of-living crisis.
