Islamabad — Pakistan’s security forces have killed 19 militants allegedly backed by India during a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan, Mohmand, and Bannu districts on September 9 and 10, the military said in a statement.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the fiercest clash took place in Mohmand’s Gulono area, where 14 militants were killed during heavy exchanges of fire.
In North Waziristan’s Datta Khel region, security forces eliminated four more militants in an operation based on credible intelligence. Another militant was killed in Bannu during a separate encounter.
The operations also led to the recovery of weapons and ammunition. ISPR said all the slain fighters were involved in multiple terrorist attacks in the region under Indian sponsorship.
