Karachi, Pakistan — Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Thursday defended his administration’s performance, saying he was “satisfied” with the government’s response despite recent challenges following heavy rains in Karachi.
Speaking to reporters after paying respects at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Shah dismissed criticism, stating that “many seasonal frogs appeared yesterday, giving statements.” He urged political opponents not to spread division or false rumors.
“Of course, shortcomings happen, but the administration has remained active throughout the past three days of rainfall,” the chief minister said. He acknowledged, however, that the government failed to provide adequate public awareness ahead of the August 19 rains, which had not been forecast.
Shah insisted his government was committed to tackling urban challenges and that comparisons with other cities would prove the Sindh administration’s efforts were unmatched.
