Karachi,(International Desk) — The Sindh government has announced an expansion of its Benazir Hari Card scheme to provide financial assistance and solar energy solutions to more farmers across the province.
Provincial Agriculture Minister Muhammad Bux Maher said on Thursday that registration of 80,000 additional farmers has been completed, with 50,000 cards expected to be issued by the end of this month.
Under the program, farmers will bear 20 percent of costs while the provincial government will cover the remaining 80 percent, Maher explained. The Hari Card offers subsidies and direct financial support.
He further stated that eligible farmers will also receive solar panels. Applications for the solar initiative must be submitted by September 20 at the office of the Director General of Agriculture in Hyderabad.
