Maryam Nawaz said the nation would never forget the sacrifices of its martyrs, calling them the true benefactors of the country. She noted that Major Aziz Bhatti “wrote history with his blood” and that his courage remains a guiding light for future generations.
The Chief Minister added that Pakistan’s freedom and security are indebted to the sacrifices of such brave soldiers, and the entire nation salutes them.
Major Aziz Bhatti embraced martyrdom on September 12, 1965, while defending Lahore during the Indo-Pak war. His gallantry in stopping enemy advances earned him the Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan’s highest military honor.
