Bannu , Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued a stern warning to Afghanistan, declaring that Kabul must “choose between Pakistan and foreign elements.”
According to security sources, the Prime Minister arrived in Bannu where he was received by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. Both leaders attended a high-level meeting on counter-terrorism at the Bannu cantonment, and later joined the funeral prayers of 12 Pakistani soldiers martyred in a South Waziristan operation. They also visited injured personnel at CMH Bannu, where Corps Commander Peshawar briefed them on the regional security situation.
Prime Minister Sharif stated that Afghan nationals were involved in recent terrorist incidents, with militants entering Pakistan from Afghan soil. He emphasized that the expulsion of undocumented Afghan residents from Pakistan was a critical necessity.
He further asserted that terrorist leaders and facilitators were based in Afghanistan, receiving backing from India. “There will be no ambiguity in our response to terrorism. The fight will continue until the last militant and facilitator is eliminated,” Sharif declared.
Condemning political narratives that he said supported “foreign agendas and Indian proxies,” the Prime Minister stressed that the state, armed forces, and the people of Pakistan stand united “like a solid wall” against terrorism. He vowed immediate administrative and legal measures to strengthen the country’s counter-terrorism response.
