Kasur/Multan,Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has pledged full cooperation in the rehabilitation and resettlement of flood victims, stressing that the state “cannot afford the loss of precious lives and property every year due to floods.”
According to the military’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief visited flood relief camps in Kasur sector and Jalalpur Pirwala, Multan, where he reviewed the ongoing humanitarian operations. He was accompanied by Punjab’s Chief Secretary and senior civil administration officials, who briefed him on the ground situation and the progress of rescue and relief efforts.
Field Marshal Munir underlined the importance of coordinated action between civil and military institutions to address the challenges posed by recurring floods. He emphasized the need for accelerated infrastructure development, improved governance, and people-centered planning to mitigate future disasters.
During his visit, the Army Chief met displaced families relocated to safer areas and assured them of the military’s continued support for their resettlement and recovery. He also praised the dedication and resilience of army personnel, Rescue 1122 workers, and police officers engaged in relief operations under difficult conditions.
