Doha, The Arab-Islamic emergency summit convenes today in Qatar’s capital, Doha, following Israel’s airstrikes on the country on 9 September. The high-level gathering is expected to strongly condemn the attacks and deliberate on concrete measures to prevent similar actions in the future.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is attending the summit, representing Islamabad’s stance on regional peace and collective Muslim response. Ahead of the meeting, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar underscored the gravity of the moment, warning that “two billion Muslims worldwide are watching this summit. It would be deeply regrettable if no clear roadmap against Israel emerges.”
Dar described Israel’s aggression against Qatar and neighboring states as “unacceptable” and urged the Muslim world to adopt a united and decisive position to counter future threats to regional stability.
