Lahore – The National Women Journalists Forum, in collaboration with Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Women’s Department, Hamdard Foundation and Marhaba, organized a Milad-un-Nabi gathering at the Lahore Press Club.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by naat recitations by Rizwana Tanveer, Maimuna Mudassar, Farah Hashmi, Iman Fatima, and Aafia Maqbool. The session was presided over by Senior Vice President Kanwal Naseem, while the forum’s president, Farzana Chaudhry, played a leading role in organizing the program.
Special guests included Punjab Assembly members Fatima Begum and Sumbal Malik, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Women’s Department Vice President and Media Director Samina Ahmed, and senior journalist Riffat Sajid. Other participants included prominent journalists, writers, and women leaders from across different organizations.
Speakers highlighted the exemplary role of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a preacher, statesman, and military leader. MPA Sumbal Malik described him as the greatest political figure in history, while MPA Fatima Begum emphasized that every aspect of the Prophet’s life serves as a guiding light for humanity. Riffat Sajid stressed that the Prophet’s mission of enjoining good and forbidding evil remains timeless.
Vice President of Jamaat-e-Islami Women’s Department, Samina Saeed, noted that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was unmatched in his leadership as a ruler and reformer.
The gathering was attended by a large number of female journalists, writers, advocates, and social activists, making it a significant occasion of religious and professional solidarity.
