Lahore: The Punjab government has established a Strategic Management Wing under the Price Control Department to strengthen monitoring of commodity demand, supply, and pricing.
According to a departmental spokesperson, the wing will provide updates on the availability and prices of essential commodities in both local and international markets. It will also integrate dashboards and portals of subsidiary institutions to ensure real-time monitoring of field operations.
The wing, supervised by Additional Director General Price Control Azooba Azeem on the instructions of Secretary Price Control Dr. Kiran Khurshid, has initially appointed eight research officers.
Officials said the unit will track compliance, monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and prepare recommendations for policy planning. By using digital tools, the wing aims to make decision-making more data-driven and fact-based.
