LAHORE:
Khadija Shah, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporter, has filed an appeal in the Lahore High Court (LHC), challenging the five-year sentence handed down to her in connection with a case arising from the May 9 riots.
In her petition, Shah argued that the trial court convicted her in violation of law, contending that the court failed to properly assess the facts and proceeded with conviction despite her not being present at the crime scene.
According to the trial court’s verdict, Shah was accused of involvement in setting fire to a government vehicle near Jinnah House during the riots.
