Rawalpindi – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan appeared before an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi via a WhatsApp video link on Monday in connection with the May 9 GHQ attack case.
During the hearing, Khan’s lawyers requested access to CCTV footage of the September 19 proceedings and sought a halt to the jail trial until the Islamabad High Court ruled on their petition. The court, however, rejected the applications, saying proceedings could not be stopped without higher court orders.
Prosecutors accused the defense of deliberately wasting time, noting repeated boycotts. Defense lawyer Salman Akram Raja argued that producing Khan via WhatsApp was unconstitutional.
Later, when Khan was connected to the court through the video link, defense lawyers complained about poor audio and visibility and walked out, boycotting the session.
