ISLAMABAD, (International Desk):
In a significant step towards digitalization, Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has introduced an online transfer system to return recovered funds to fraud victims, eliminating the need for in-person visits to NAB offices.
The initiative was formally launched during a special ceremony held at NAB headquarters on Wednesday, presided over by Chairman Lt. Gen. (R) Nazir Ahmed. The event marked the first direct online transfer of recovered funds to victims of the B4U fraud case.
Senior NAB officials, including the Deputy Chairman and Director Generals, along with representatives from the National Bank of Pakistan, attended the ceremony. Chairman Ahmed personally initiated the first batch of transfers, describing the move as a major step forward in facilitating victims.
Previously, NAB disbursed recovered amounts through pay orders, which was time-consuming and limited the number of beneficiaries served at one time. The new digital process will allow direct transfers to victims’ bank accounts, streamlining compensation and removing bureaucratic delays.
