Lahore — Commissioner Punjab Social Security, Muhammad Ali, inaugurated the expansion project of the Emergency Block at Shahdara Social Security Hospital during his visit on Monday. The ceremony was attended by Medical Advisor Dr. Humaira Buzdar, Medical Superintendent Dr. Mazhar Awan, and other senior officials.
The Emergency Ward capacity is being doubled from 8 beds to 16 beds. New facilities for workers and their families will include a Resuscitation Room, Triage Area, Minor Operation Theatre, and ECG Room. Commissioner Muhammad Ali also reviewed the Operation Theatre, inspecting a newly installed sterilization machine, and checked cleanliness, doctors’ attendance, patient records, and medicine availability.
He further inspected the construction work on the hospital’s third floor and directed the Director Works to finalize the layout plan, with specific instructions to make waiting areas more comfortable for patients and attendants. In view of potential dengue threats, he emphasized strict adherence to SOPs.
Commissioner Muhammad Ali said the expansion and upgradation of the Emergency Ward would ensure the provision of modern healthcare facilities to workers and their families. “All possible resources are being utilized to improve medical services for the welfare of workers,” he added.
